SEN Buddy / PA in Kent, ME3. A great position offering 12-hour shifts supporting a charming, funny, and sociable young man (23) with a physical and learning disability. Up to GBP17.00 / GBP204.00. Quoted in Gross

Nearest Tube/Station: Higham Railway Station
Wage/Salary: GBP15.00 per hour/GBP180.00 per shift weekdays, GBP17.00per hour/ GBP204.00 per shifts weekends, GBP30.00 Bank Holidays, all figures quoted in gross.
Driver Essential? Preferable. Automatic Car for use whilst on duty
Essential: Genuine interest in supporting a client with additional needs, willingness to learn, and excellent communication skills. This role is open to female applicants only.
Desirable: PEG feed, hoist experience, and previously worked in a family home.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: 12-hour shifts: 7.30am to 7.30pm and occasional half day shifts typically 9.00am 3.00pm. Full and part-time permanent contracts available.

About this client: Josh is 23 years old and lives at home with his Mum, Dad, and younger twin sisters in Cooling, Kent. Snap Care has had the pleasure of working with Josh for several years, and he has a supportive, dedicated, and caring team providing round-the-clock support enabling him to live independently. Josh is a real character, he has a long list of hobbies and interests, including listening to music, using his heated swimming pool, trips out, sightseeing, and spending time in his sensory room. Josh has a physical and learning disability, he is a full-time wheelchair user, receives his fluid, medication and nutrition via a PEG, oxygen via a nasal cannula, and communicates using sounds, facial expressions, and body language. Josh s team is expanding and we have opportunities offering both full and part-time contracts.

Overview of role: Josh requires his SEN Buddy / PA to assist with all areas of his ADLs, personal care, medical needs, therapy programmes, social aspect, along with facilitating his role as a big brother! If Josh has plans to go out, you will be working alongside another team member providing 2:1 care and support, enabling Josh to participate in his planned activities. When working at home, the role is 1:1. Josh has a busy schedule, established routines, and requires his SEN Buddy / PA to promote his independence, and advocate for him. His home is fully adapted to meet all his needs, and full training is provided in all aspects of his care and support. Rotas are provided 4 weeks in advance and for the right person, there is flexibility to work around other work / home commitments.

Who this job would suit: A SEN Buddy / PA with a great sense of humour is a must, along with excellent communication, teamwork skills, the ability to work on your own initiative, and confident working within a family setting. Josh is keen to have his team bring in new ideas and expand his already long list of hobbies and interests. For this role you do not need to come with experience, all training is provided so this could be an ideal position for someone with a genuine passion and interest in getting into support work and keen to learn new skills - this is the role for you!
