SEN PE TEACHER Daily Rate: PAID TO SCALE Location: NORWOOD (SE21) Contract Type: Long Term Start Date: ASAP Information on the role:
- Teaching KS3 pupils.
- 9 pupils per classroom.
- At least 3 TA's depending on additional individual support needs i.e. medical.
- Long term position with potential permanent role.
- Outstanding school with NAS advanced practitioner status. Nature of the students:
- Teaching 9 pupils who have a diagnosis of severe ASD, SLD, ADHD, PMLD. Students with severe learning difficulties face significant intellectual and cognitive challenges, affecting their independent participation in the school curriculum. Support is needed in various areas, including academics, self-help, and social skills, with attainments often within the upper P scale range (P4-P8) below level 1 of the National Curriculum. Curriculum information:
- Curriculums are designed in house and based on Equals pre-formal or engagement (below 18 months cognition) and semi formal (pre-key stage standards 1 to 3/4 or P5 to P8 and under 5 years cognition. Training and support given:
- Comprehensive support for induction through coaching and mentoring including team teaching
- For new teachers: Multi-agency professional training using specialists such as our privately commissioning speech and language, and occupation therapists and educational psychologist. Must have:
- DBS
- SEN Experience
- QTS or equivalent to QTS such as overseas qualification to QTLS with SET completion and membership TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
