SEN TeacherASC/Complex Needs  Start Date: January 2024Purpose-Built Special School in East London with fantastic development opportunitiesSalary: £36,745 - £47,666 (depending on scale and experience) A brand-new, purpose-built Special School in East London is searching for qualified, confident, and ambitious SEN Teachers to join the team.Our SEN school in East London are seeking a passionate SEN teacher to join their welcoming team. The SEN school provides support to children with a range of different complex disabilities, including profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties, and complex autism. It is a fantastic purpose-built site undergoing transformation into a school with a range of quality facilities for sensory learners. Due to local council policy, this school has been opened to support the need for provision for students with complex learning needs who have been unable to be fully supported in mainstream settings.As a SEN Teacher, you will have a teaching style characterised by joy and playfulness, along with a commitment to a non-punitive and gentle approach to behaviour support.The ideal candidate should be happy to teach students with a diverse range of complex disabilities, including those with profound and multiple learning disabilities, complex severe learning disabilities, with and without autism. Some students may exhibit challenging behaviours stemming from their disabilities.Above all, the crucial attributes sought are a positive attitude and unwavering determination to offer the very best for all our students.     Working in a SEN School for students with a range of complex needsDelivering creative and stimulating SEN lessonsHave a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils.Have a calm and gentle approach to behaviour support.Adapting and differentiating the curriculum for individual needs of all studentsResponsible for learning and achievement of all pupils, ensuring equality for all.Promoting a love of learning, inspiring pupils to try new things and reach their full potential.Safeguard and promote the welfare of children.Work proactively and collaboratively with supporting staff and external agencies, providing effective management for Teaching AssistantsInner London pay scale MPS 1 – M6 Located in East London

    Adaptable and flexible in their approachQTS/QTLSConfident with new classes and working with a range of pupil needs.Fun and engaging – able to take lesson plans and give them life!Looking for a variable, interesting and unique roleOpen to progression, development, and training opportunitiesStrong understanding of the SEN curriculum & teaching standardsPersonal or professional experience of working with children with SEN. Proven record of good / outstanding feedback from lesson observations / performance managementExperience of using a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all pupils.Resilient and adaptableAbility to differentiate approach based on individual needs.Enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive impact on pupils with SEN.Caring and compassionate natureConfident, with good classroom and behaviour management skills, appropriate to children’s needsAbility to work well as a team, but also independently on your own initiative.
