Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND teacher looking to make a significant impact in an ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) unit? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join our dynamic team at our client school, based in Newham.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will lead a class of 10 wonderful children with the support of a full-time class teacher and a team of 5-6 dedicated Teaching Assistants (TAs). You will be responsible for creating and implementing tailored educational plans that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring they receive the support and encouragement they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Inspire: Provide effective leadership to a class of children with complex needs, supported by a team of TAs.
  • Tailored Teaching: Deliver personalized teaching and support to children with SEND, adapting your methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Outreach Programme: Collaborate with our outreach programme to extend support beyond the classroom, fostering community engagement.
  • Toileting Support: Provide assistance with toileting as necessary, ensuring the comfort and dignity of all students.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintain a relentlessly positive attitude, encouraging a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Go Above and Beyond: Demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile to support our students and their families.

Qualifications and Experience

  • SEND Trained: Qualified teacher status with specialized training in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with complex needs in a school setting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a team of TAs.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND and a commitment to their educational and personal development.
