Job description

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher to cover a period of maternity leave. You will have proven ability and experience of teaching special needs and a commitment and drive to continuously raising standards for our pupils and making a difference.

You should possess skills to be a creative, proactive, resourceful, energetic, and very well organised practitioner whose work will reflect the school’s priority of placing pupils at the heart of what it does. You must have a commitment to partnership with parents, other agencies, and the wider school community. You should be committed to your own professional development to ensure that you have up to date knowledge, skills and understanding of teaching pupils with Special Needs, including those children with severe/complex needs and Autism.

Brookfields School provides a quality, inclusive and specialist education for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders.

Our Special settings cater for children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs from children with profound medical needs and life limiting conditions, those with severe, moderate and sensory needs through to young people with social emotional and mental health needs that require support and understanding to help them to navigate their world.

Salary: Grade M1 – U3 - £30,000 - £46,525 Plus SEN1 - £2,539

Working hours: Monday to Friday – 32.5 hours per week

Contract type: Maternity Cover
