Step into Teaching have a great opportunity to spend a full academic year as a graduate SEN Teaching Assistant working in a wonderful Secondary School based in Northwest London. The school creates a happy and secure learning environment where all students' needs are met and where achievements along with successes are recognised and praised.
All staff are highly ambitious; therefore, the headteacher is looking for someone who is passionate about supporting their students and ensure every student reaches their full potential by having high expectations for all.
The opportunity:
- SEN Teaching Assistant
- £500 - £525 weekly – term time only!
- Based in Northwest London
- Full time role (Monday - Friday) for the rest of the academic year
- Start ASAP
- Gain classroom experience first before training to become a teacher
Job Specification:
- Hold a degree (2:2 or above)
- Previous experience working with young people with learning difficulties (preferred but not essential)
- Be passionate about supporting children with their learning
- Be enthusiastic, friendly and confident
- Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities
- Must be able to relate well to young people and adults and have some understanding of the range of needs of young people with learning difficulties
- Be able to work effectively in a team
Key responsibilities within the role:
- Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
- Building and maintaining successful relationships with students, whilst treating them with respect and consideration
- Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress
