SEN Educational Teaching Assistant
28.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:45am – 3:15pm term time only
To commence 2nd September 2024 on a fixed term basis to 31st August 2025 but with the potential to extend subject to funding.
Spring Grove School is an outstanding multi-cultural school that lies at the heart of a supportive and diverse community in central Huddersfield. With an increase in support needs, we are looking for someone with experience of supporting children who have a range of additional needs. This will initially be a fixed contract but may be extended dependant on funding.
Duties will include:
- Work under guidance of the SENDCO and the class teacher to plan and deliver activities to meet children’s needs
- One to one and/or small group support for children with varying levels of needacross school
- Personal and intimate care for small numbers of children
- Ensuring all such children can access the curriculum
- Implementing Behaviour Plans, IEP’s, MSP’s and EHCP’s
- Contributing to Plan reviews and evaluations
You will need to have the following experience/attributes:
- An understanding of how children learn and be committed to inclusion and inclusive practises
- Understand the rewards, demands and challenges of working with children with additional needs
- A warm approach and nurturing manner
- Flexible and prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the school
- An excellent role model
