SEN Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join this lovely, family feel autism base in Camden starting in September 2024. This is a full time, long-term role for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.
The School:
The autism base is a base for pupils with autism, challenging behaviour, and the associated learning disabilities. The base is attached to a mainstream setting and is well equipped to provide the best education possible. You will have access to sensory rooms, amongst other helpful tools for pupils with high autism needs.
The base holds 12 children maximum. In the base the children are placed within this unit by the local authority through a referral process. ARP pupils join in with day to day school life and integrate into mainstream classes according to their individual levels of need.
As SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for the following:
Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
Create a safe learning environment for all students
Keep records up to date and attend review meetings
Work cooperatively with teachers, TAs and other professionalsTo join us and be successful in this role you will need:
Previous experience working with children
Sound knowledge of SEN and Autism
An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
