Job description

SEND Nurture Lead

Salary Range C1 (actual salary £22, 725 - £24, 744 per annum)

37 Hours per week - term time only plus five days

Permanent

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, dedicated and capable SEND Nurture Lead to support the wellbeing, teaching and learning of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across the Key Stages in our mainstream, high achieving secondary school.

Applicants should have proven experience of working in a school environment and should have a good working knowledge of SEND.

The ability to support GCSE Maths, English or science would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will join a team of supportive and professional staff who are intent on providing the best learning opportunities for all children and will work under the guidance of the classroom teacher/SENDCO to support personal and educational development of the students.

For our 1500 students, Horsforth School provides an engaging environment of discovery and growth. For our colleagues too, this setting offers some great benefits. Located in north-west Leeds, the school is just five miles from the city centre with its thriving retail, leisure and cultural facilities, yet on the edge of open countryside. York, Harrogate and the Dales are within easy reach.

GCSE and A Level results are consistently well above the national averages and in both 2022 and 2023 the school had the best A Level results in the whole of Leeds. Horsforth School was also named one of the top schools in Yorkshire in The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide in 2022.

If you’d like to find out more, please call 0113 226 5454. Or for full details and to download an application form, please visit www.horsforthschool.org and click on the vacancies tab or email recruitment@horsforthschool.org

We reserve the right to call particularly strong candidates for interview before the closing date, therefore early applications are encouraged.

Closing date:  8am on Wednesday 7th February 2024

Start date:      ASAP

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and we expect all colleagues to share this commitment.  Appointments will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

The above post is not a Leeds City Council vacancy and has been advertised on behalf of the relevant organisation. To apply please follow their application instructions.

This role is based in the UK. Employment is conditional on confirmation of the right to work in the UK  - either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa.
