TeacherActive are proud to be working with a SEND school based in Exeter, supporting them with their recruitment of an SEND Teacher. The setting s main focus is to help it s pupils in their social, emotional and behavioural development whilst following the curriculum and promoting an inclusive and encouraging environment.

The school is looking for a compassionate individual to take on this role. The successful SEND Teacher will have a good level of experience in SEND settings and the ability to adapt and develop their teaching styles. They will be able to lead the classroom and plan focussed and in-depth lessons that meet the individual needs of the children in their care and ensure that they re supported, safe and secure within their learning environment.

The successful applicant will also need to work very closely and liaise with the 1:1 TA s / 1:1 Teaching Assistants, parents and other support staff to ensure good communication at all times and that needs and goals are being met.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, MLD / Moderate Learning Difficulties, ADHD and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities

Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours, ADHD, ASD

Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent

Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
