We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Trafford. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to a small specialist class for children with special educational needs (SEN). The role will involve working closely with the class teacher and other members of the school staff to ensure that each child receives the best possible support and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the class teacher to support children with SEN in the classroom
- Help to plan and deliver lessons, activities, and interventions that meet the individual needs of each child
- Monitor and record each child's progress, and report any concerns to the class teacher
- Help to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all children
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to children as needed
- Assist with personal care and other tasks as required
Requirements:
- Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, with a strong understanding of different SEN needs
- Knowledge of the national curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the needs of individual children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- The ability to work as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude
- Valid DBS on the Update Service and Right to work in the UK.
