Role: Teaching Assistant

This is a special school catering to pupils aged 3-19 with a range of learning difficulties, physical and sensory impairments, and autistic spectrum disorders, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) and who are looking for a rewarding and challenging opportunity.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist pupils with their academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in school activities.
- Employ various strategies and resources to engage pupils and enhance their learning outcomes.
- Promote positive behaviour and ensure the safeguarding of pupils at all times.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents, and external agencies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- High levels of empathy, patience, and the ability to engage on a 1:1 basis with pupils with ALN.
- Relevant qualification in childcare, education, or health and social care is desirable but not essential.
- Hold a valid DBS certificate and be registered with the EWC.
