Job Opportunity: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: West Drayton About the Role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional development of children with a range of SEND, with a particular focus on SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and ASD. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will provide one-on-one and group support to students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and participate fully in classroom activities. About you: The ideal candidate will have: - Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and ASD, preferably in an educational setting. - Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies. - Experience with manual handling and supporting students with physical disabilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians. Key Responsibilities: - Providing one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and ASD. - Implementing individualized behaviour management strategies and interventions. - Supporting students with manual handling and physical care needs, where required. Qualifications and Experience: - Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and ASD is essential. - Additional training or qualifications related to SEMH, challenging behaviour, ASD, or manual handling would be advantageous.
