Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant
Fulltime and Long-Term
Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Salary Range: £85 - £100 per day
Start date: ASAP
Location: Haringey
We're currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant or graduates looking to work as SEND Teaching assistant, to join our team. This is a dynamic Primary and Secondary SEND School located in Haringey. It is a school for SEND pupils with classes no larger than 8 pupils, with a team of 3 experienced TA’s in each class. You will be supporting children with autism (ASD) and associated communication needs (SLCN). These pupils will engage well with PECS and Makaton, experience is desirable but not essential.
This role is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, resourceful, patient and committed to creating a warm and welcoming learning environment. If you’re someone who loves working with children and are good with building relationships, organised, calm and easily adapt to diverse scenarios, then this is the job for you!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering 1:1 and group interventions.
- Collaborating with other TA’s.
- Maintaining a secure and encouraging learning environment.
- Delivering personalised support, adjusting your methods to meet their specific needs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Background in psychology is desirable but not essential.
- Previous SEND experience with children who have ASD and SLCN is essential.
- Genuine passion, resilience, empathy, and patience for working with SEND children.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to build strong relationships with children.
