We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our specialist nurse-led Bladder, Bowel & Pelvic Health Team as a Band 4 Senior Administrative Officer in the Continence Prescribing Team. The post holder will be required to have excellent communication skills to sensitively handle telephone communication with patients and healthcare professionals, and will be based in Crymych, Pembrokeshire.
The successful candidate must have a passion for patient care and improving the patient experience.
You will be one of the main contacts for the Continence prescription service, receiving and processing prescriptions via telephone and email for continence appliances, ordering samples, working with allied health professionals and for referring any clinical issues to the clinical nursing team.
The successful candidate will be able to navigate a large electronic database, utilising excellent IT skills to input information accurately, generate reports and data, perform generic clerical work such as producing letters and team documents, and taking minutes.
Other duties include: -
Make and receive telephone calls from patients, relatives, staff members and other professionals, using initiative and judgement on action required and where necessary refer on to appropriate staff member.
Provide support with arranging meetings, prepare reports and other correspondence as directed.
Provide day to day supervision of other administrative staff.
Deliver routine training on system updates of relevant programmes such as Cobweb.
Communicate effectively and establish and maintain good relationships with clients and other members of the MDT .
Take and transcribe minutes.
Prioritise daily work to comply with the needs of the team.
Manage own workload with minimal supervision within agreed guidelines.
Contribute to discussions within departmental staff meetings about proposed changes.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
