Role overview

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with a passion for AI and deep technical expertise to join our new AI Labs team in London. You'll lead a team of AI engineers, driving technical excellence in designing and developing innovative AI-based solutions to our brands’ core strategic challenges.

Reporting to our Innovation Lead you will bring your technical experience and creativity to help design, test and prototype AI solutions that enhance efficiency, increase productivity, and create new avenues for growth across Next 15.

As a Senior AI Engineer at Next 15, you will:

• Lead and inspire a team of engineers focused on AI-related projects

• Collaborate with diverse teams to define AI project scopes, technical requirements, and architecture

• Drive the development of AI-powered solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry best practices, and new technologies

• Advise technical teams across brands on AI development and best practices

• Support the implementation of AI solutions and technologies for enhanced efficiency, productivity, and innovation across the Group and our brands.

• Lead from the front, taking ownership of development, giving hands-on support in coding, debugging and problem-solving to meet project goals

• Stay informed about the latest advancements in AI technologies and propose cutting-edge innovative solutions to stay on the frontier of development

• Focus on experimentation and rapid prototyping, identifying the hardest part of any problem and solving that first

• Provide technical guidance and support to our team of engineers to continue to grow our capability as a centre of excellence within Next 15 for AI development.

You will bring:

• A degree in computer science, engineering, AI or an IT-related subject

• Leadership experience within a development team

• Proficiency in programming languages relevant to AI such as Python, R or Java

• Deep and proven understanding of AI algorithms, GenAI, machine learning, natural language processing, and data analysis

• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries e.g TensorFlow, PyTorch

• Knowledge of cloud platforms e.g AWS, Azure and their AI-related services

• Experience with successful resolution of AI-specific technical challenges
