Salary: £37,400.00 - £42,900.00 GBP Annual

Additional allowance: A Digital Allowance of up to £10,000 per annum is available for exceptional candidates, based on our assessment of your skills and experience.
Pension: 28.97% - Alongside your salary, Student Loans Company contributes £10,834 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

Job description
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Application Developer to join our team. This role is within the ERP Centre of Excellence which is responsible for the development, maintenance and support of Workday and peripheral systems that supports SLC's business.
The Senior Application Developer will have overall responsibility for all in-house application and integration developments in Workday (Finance, HCM and Commercial). They will lead and participate in the system development life cycle including technical design, development, testing and deployment of Workday functionality and other ERP systems. The Senior Application Developer will provide technical leadership and direction for all application development activities including release analysis and impact assessment, new module development, smaller enhancements, maintenance and improvements of existing configuration. The employee will provide support and cover for the Integration Specialist when required and assist with the mentoring of the ERP graduate(s).

What you bring
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or closely related field
Experience in developing end-to-end finance and / or HCM solutions, including system configuration, integration developments, system and data security.
Experience providing impact analysis and risk assessments for new functionality and enhancements, identifying process improvement opportunities to drive innovation.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and customers at various levels across the organisation and third parties, ensuring a high level of customer service.
Have experience of writing code such as Java and technologies like SOAP, WSDL, XML, XSLT and Rest API’s that are used in building an integration.
