Senior Architectural Technologist

A Senior Architectural Technologist is required to join a leading and reputable consultancy. This role will be based within their Colchester office. Our client has an extensive list of completed and ongoing projects ranging from large-scale new build and refurbishment projects.

Day to day as an employee of this practice, you are most likely to be working schemes within a range of sectors such as commercial, residential and education. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join an ambitious, rapidly developing consultancy in Colchester. This role seeks an individual who has good knowledge of Revit software and are open to any project experience. Our client has passion for exceptional customer service and have an impressive portfolio of long-standing relationships.

Senior Architectural Technologist Position Overview

• Work on a range of large-scale projects within Residential, Commercial and education sectors
• Accept instructions from clients to understand their requirements and develop their briefs
• Produce feasibility reports for clients which fully consider statutory restrictions and client briefing from outset
• Prepare any necessary planning applications, listed building applications, building control applications and monitor and manage as required by liaising with clients, other consultants, contractors and relevant authorities.
• Be able to promptly resolve building control queries, requests for information (RFI's) from the contractor and other consultant stakeholders
• Prepare design drawings for competitive tender including production of working drawings and specifications
• Take ownership of projects and delegate tasks to junior members of staff
• Act as main point of contact on design and build schemes for the contractor, leading design meetings with the client to assist the contractor through the procurement gateways
• Take day-to-day responsibility for ensuring project portfolio is kept on track and assigned resource is informed of short- and long-term goals within programme.
• Produce high quality design for a range of exciting projects in a variety of sectors
• Maintain and form good relationships with colleagues and clients

Senior Architectural Technologist Position Requirements

• Live within a commutable distance of Colchester (taking into account our client has 3 days working from home)
• Strong design, presentational and report writing skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Good knowledge of building regulations
• MCIAT or working towards the professional membership.
• Advanced experience of Revit essential, AutoCAD would be beneficial
• Experience of NBS Chorus beneficial
• Experience of leading and managing projects from RIBA stages 3 onward in a client facing role advantageous
• Experience in the commercial and education sector advantageous
• Have an advanced level of knowledge for construction detailing and be able to resolve construction related queries
• Experience of overseeing and mentoring of junior members of staff beneficial
• Driving licence

• Competitive Salary GBP40,000 - GBP50,000 (DOE)
