Are you an experienced Automation Developer that would you like to join an award-winning Automation Centre of Excellence and play a vital role in modernising and improving the quality of services to our public sector clients?

As our ambitions continue to grow and evolve so does the team! We have now created a brand-new role to provide our developers with day-to-day leadership as they look to continually improve processes within the HR, finance and payroll services that our internal customers deliver to our clients.

We are looking for an experienced Automation Developer to work within the team, taking the lead on more complex automation solutions. As well as supporting the developers with their delivery plans and carry out periodic reviews to support with their personal development.

This exciting hybrid role will require you to work out of our Newport offices at least twice a week with your team and the rest of the week will be based from home.
As the team is split over two locations there will also be the requirement to travel to our Newcastle offices every couple of months or so

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing technical training, mentorship, and support on a day-to-day basis to the Automation Developer team that you will lead
  • Collaborating with our Business Analysts to supervise the team's individual projects making sure they are delivered within time, budget, and quality targets
  • Working closely with the Automation Support Team to respond to live service issues and deliver regular reviews of live automation performance
  • Coordinating planned deployments with internal and external customers
  • Reviewing automation process documentation, adhering to governance and auditing requirements
  • Arranging events to promote and increase adoption of automation with the relevant sectors

What you’ll bring:

  • Significant automation experience, preferably with UI Path, Blue Prism or similar
  • Project management experience or certification
  • Experience in working with a variety of customers and being able to communicate to technical and non-technical parties alike
  • Previous responsibility for governance and quality of process documents
  • The ability to review and suggest improvements in coding with VBA or C# Experience of managing a team either as a direct report or project leader
  • Knowledge in business process analysis, RPA process design and automation methodology
