About the Role
We are currently looking for a Senior BI Developer to join our Applications and Development team within Group I&T. Power BI implementations are growing rapidly and demands for projects are emanating from all areas – site, national, regional and divisional. Keeping track of all these projects and ensuring they are defined according to best practices for Power BI implementations, data is secure and deliver high value consistently has become a challenge.
Key Accountabilities -
- BI Platform Oversight:
o Oversee all the BI platforms used company-wide, ensuring alignment with strategic direction and consistency across divisions.
o Provide updates on BI platform performance, initiatives, and challenges.
- BI Product Development Guidance:
o Provide direction and guidance to internal and external project teams in BI products development, reviewing and approving solution designs to ensure they meet quality and strategic criteria.
- BI Governance and Best Practices:
o Define and advocate for BI best practices and ensure adherence to standards across the organization.
o Collaborate with cross-divisional stakeholders to establish a comprehensive Power BI Governance and Deployment framework.
o Monitor Power BI activity metrics across divisions to analyze usage across divisions, ensure compliance with governance policies and mitigate risks.
- Knowledge Sharing and Training:
o Stay current with emerging trends and technologies and provide recommendations to enhance the BI ecosystem's capabilities.
o Conduct training sessions for cross-divisional teams, sharing insights, knowledge, and best practices to elevate BI expertise.
About you
- You are highly skilled and experienced in the Business Intelligence domain (Required)
- Specific knowledge and expertise within Power BI (Required)
- Good knowledge of Data Warehousing Concepts, Dimensional Modelling and Databases
- SQL knowledge and some ETL experience is a plus
- Good communication and presentation skills, including being able to adapt your language to both a technical and functional audience, both with your colleagues and the decision makers.
- Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
