Senior Building Surveyor - Exciting Opportunity in Construction and Project Management

Role Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities: As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in delivering construction projects, managing contracts, and providing professional advice. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Planning, prioritizing, and leading professional advice on property and construction management.
  2. Designing, programming, and managing projects to ensure completion within budget and timelines.
  3. Developing detailed working drawings on CAD and preparing specifications for value-for-money solutions.
  4. Coordinating the tendering of projects, evaluating tenders, and producing recommendations.
  5. Submitting Building Regulation and Planning Applications, Party Wall Notices, and addressing technical queries.
  6. Providing specialist technical advice for design solutions and troubleshooting with stakeholders.
  7. Supporting the team in cross-working with other divisions, identifying service improvements, and producing timely reports.
  8. Acting as the Principal Designer in accordance with CDM Regulations, ensuring risk mitigation and health and safety compliance.
  9. Supporting the Team Leader in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and meeting strict deadlines with a flexible approach.
  10. Fulfilling budgetary control, producing cost estimates, and negotiating final accounts to meet financial controls.

Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A construction-related degree with post-qualification experience.
  • Membership of RICS, RIBA, CIOB, or equivalent, or working toward the status.
  • Strong planning, contract, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of CDM Regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act, and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in budgetary control and negotiation of final accounts.
  • Proficiency in CAD, Microsoft Office, and project management software.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • A full and valid driving license with a vehicle insured for business use.

Work Related Travel: Required (Ability to travel around the county, Designated car user)
