Job description

National Account Manager, Manufacturing, reporting to the Senior National Account Manager. Working within a focussed sales team to deliver on Belazu’s purpose: to inspire and serve chefs in every kitchen.

Compensation

At Belazu, Honesty is one of our core values, and we are dedicated to ensuring fair compensation. The compensation offered will be assessed thoughtfully, taking into account your experience and skills. This will be supplemented by a performance-based bonus of up to 30% of your basic salary.

  • Basic: £45,000 - £55,000
  • OTE: £58,500 - £71,500

What the Day Job Looks Like

We’re looking for someone to embrace a pivotal role to help develop and drive an exciting new growth channel at Belazu. This position provides the opportunity to grow relationships with our existing customers but also pursue new strategic targets for customer acquisition. You'll lead daily customer interactions, manage NPD projects, and conduct face-to-face presentations. Notable clients in your portfolio will include Greencore, Samworth, Cranswick, Bakkavor, and Charlie Bighams. Additionally, you’ll be delving into the realm of recipe kits with prominent names such as Hello Fresh, Gousto, and Mindful Chef. You’ll also be encouraged to explore avenues to introduce our paste sachets into other sectors.

This Role Will Suit You If:

You have fair amount of experience with leading food manufacturers in the UK. Experience withGreencore or Samworth is essential.

You thrive in a customer-facing role and excel at building and maintaining strong relationships. We want someone who receives and brings energy by speaking to a wide range of people.

Acting as the bridge between our customers and our NPD team, you find joy in managing projects to develop tailored products that meet the needs of our customers.

You’re comfortable in the art of sales negotiations and with thinking on your feet. Our customers will throw a lot of questions and challenges your way and you will need to be able to handle these effectively, maintaining realistic expectations and getting the best deal.

You have a keen interest in the food industry and possess a can-do attitude. We love food - and we need you to love it too!

You thrive in a collaborative team environment, recognising the value of being part of a great team. Your ability to integrate with colleagues and contribute to a positive work culture is a crucial aspect of your professional identity.

This Role Won't Suit You If:

You shy away from taking initiative and problem-solving. We're seeking someone eager to join our journey, contributing to growing Belazu by suggesting recommendations to improve business performance and spending metrics.

Are daunted by the idea of autonomy. Your direct team will be small and will spend the majority of the week talking to customers, so you will need to be able to be accountable for your work and be able to self-motivate to get the job done.

Struggle with multitasking and remaining calm in a busy and demanding department. There are lots of stakeholders with this role, and our Sales team are busy driving business performance so being able to prioritise and manage expectations is essential.

The core skills you will need to excel in the role

  • Experience with Greencore and Samworth
  • Excellent communicator who can quickly build rapport and influence others to build strong relationships
  • Good commercial knowledge
  • Exceptional sales skills
  • A great grasp of numbers with good Microsoft skills.

Terms

  • 40 hrs/wk i.e. 8.00am-4.30pm Mon-Fri (start and finish times flexible) with a hybrid working model.
  • Probationary period 3 months
