Senior Buyer

Our client is a family run business, with an amazing products and a customer centric approach.  They have stores in the UK and a rapidly growing online, International and concessions business. They really care about people, customers, and the communities in which they trade and are now looking for Senior Buyer to be based out of their amazing head office in Buckinghamshire. The role offers some hybrid working with up to six days per calendar month home-working and the rest of the time-based working with their collaborative teams. 

As one of their, Senior Buyers you will be an experienced buyer, joining a fast-paced buying team & working closely with the Head of Buying, who is responsible and accountable for the buying of designated supplier base ranges.  The Senior Buyer will support on team development and proactively seek ways to continuously improve the buying function processes.  You will be a skilled negotiator with exceptional er 

Senior Buyer - Responsibilities

- To own and deliver the specific category ranges designated to your team

- To generate ideas and proposals to positively impact the promotions and trade plan

- To build great supplier relationships and represent the brand.

- Helping deliver efficiency projects within the Commercial team

- To work closely with the product merchandising team to maintain optimum stock levels across all trading channels]

- To attend and support the commercial team buying trips

Senior Buyer – Required Skills

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar commercial role, ideally within retail.

- Must have previous frontline supplier facing experience.

- Commercially astute with a proven track record of leading negotiations to a successful conclusion.

- Experience in managing, developing, and coaching a number of team members in a variety of roles.

- Excellent organisational skills and ability to scope and develop new or improved core processes.

- Ideally a degree or equivalent qualification.

- Computer literate with sound excel skills (windows desktop/laptop and server systems.)

- Ability to be agile, operate commercially as an expert in their role and be able to understand the wider business needs in an expanding and diversifying company.
