Senior Caretaker

Our client are a Student Accommodation provider who are urgently seeking a Facilities Assistant to join their team within their commercial residential settings across sites in Camberwell, Peckham, South East London.
This is a temporary position on a 28 hour contract working weekends and will be offered on a permanent to the right candidate.
Duties and responsibilities:

• To assist in several of maintenance/handyperson jobs including basic plumbing, carpentry and painting.
• To undertake daily checks of premises (to include lighting, heating, fire extinguishers etc) against a set checklist, reporting the findings to the Residence Manager. 
• To ensure that the site is safe and secure by undertaking regular patrols of all internal & external buildings.
• To undertake all cleaning duties of communal areas, external grounds, reception areas & offices on daily - to include sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming and ensure cleaning consumables are monitored and maintained.
• To assist the Residence Manager with key tasks during the summer turnaround period, ensuring that the building is ready for the new residents at key times of year. 

Contract Details:

• Part time hours - 28 hrs per week, between 8am & 8pm
• Weekend working - You will be required to work every Saturday & Sunday + 1 other day in the week
• Pay - Hourly rate of £15.83
• Temporary with aim to go permanent for right candidate
• Enhanced DBS on update service preferred but not essential at this stage.
• Immediate start required

This is an ideal role for a Senior Caretaker, Maintenance Operative, Facilities Assistant or Building Technician within property with basic maintenance skills.
