The Job:
On behalf of our client we are seeking a Legal Executive / Senior Case Handler. This newly created role has arisen to due growth. Working flexible between the office and remotely, you will be acting on behalf of mortgage lenders in taking steps to enforce their security by way of possession of the mortgaged property.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing general support to the team on technical and strategic transactional issues, including drafting documents.
- Maintaining a small caseload of non-standard matters.
- Actively engaging with clients when assisting in the resolution of issues.
- Recognising reputational risks with certain courses of action and providing practical advice to manage and mitigate such risks.
- Keep the team up-to-date with legal developments affecting the work types undertaken and considering the impact on the processes
- Identifying knowledge gaps/areas of risk in the team and facilitating the necessary training / remedies.
- Working closely with the management team to support clients’ technical needs and promote client relationships through ad hoc advice, materials and legal updates.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and ensure all queries and issues are dealt with promptly and effectively.
The Person:
For this role, our client is looking for someone who has experience in litigation within financial services and be confident to manage a complete case load of files
As well as:
- A good understanding of civil procedure.
- Experienced in drafting documents, such as particulars of claim and witness statements.
- Ideally you will have mortgage litigation experience however financial services litigation experience would also very much of interest.
- Confident at research and interpreting cases/legislation and a competent user of Lexis and Westlaw.
- Experience at providing structured advice to clients on a legal or procedural issue to the highest level

The Salary:
Up to £31,000 depending on experience.
