Senior Category Manager - £70,000 - Worthing (Hybrid)
Our utilities client is currently seeking a Senior Category Manager to join their team in Worthing. This will be a hybrid role and you will be required to come into the office 1-2 days a week. This is a strategic role with the opportunity to influence and shape Southern Water's business model and supply chain strategies.
You will manage the development and implementation of category and sourcing strategies for a specified range of categories. The objective being to inform and influence strategies developed by the business areas and align category strategies to achieve value creation and minimise total cost of ownership for the client.
You will lead the Capital delivery / Engineering & Construction category management team and work with the sourcing team to support execution of strategic and tactical sourcing, negotiating and contracting activities for the relevant categories and sub-categories within regulated procurement best practice compliant with the Utilities Contract Regulations (UCR).
The ideal candidate:

• Have experience of construction or capital procurement
• Relevant qualifications (CIPS/ Bachelor's degree in business or a related field) and have significant experience working with leading-practice tools, techniques and processes covering category strategy development
• Ideally you will also have experience of working in a regulated procurement environment.
• You will be a great planner with robust project management capabilities, with confidence in leading a strategic purchasing team within a cross functional business which requires the soft skills to manage conflict resolution and objection handling using a range of approaches to influence key stakeholders across all levels.
