We are delighted to be supporting a well-known organisation based in Warrington, who are looking to grow their Procurement function. As a Category Manager, you will lead the sourcing delivery for business critical spend areas delivering multi-million pound savings and value adds.
Joining a strong commercial function, it would be advantageous to have experience in sourcing Capex, Maintenance & Service Contracts. This is a strategic sourcing role so we're looking for someone who has had exposure to high value sourcing and being in control of long-term sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing -
- Develop and execute the sourcing process for complex, medium to high spend goods or services, influencing an annual spend over 100M.
- Lead negotiations for significant savings and benefits, collaborating with stakeholders.
Stakeholder management -
- Establish collaborative relationships with stakeholders to support the transition from sourcing to Supplier Collaboration.
- Provide input into annual Market Planning reviews aligned with business objectives.
Team Leadership -
- Lead a small team of 3 people, contributing to team development and fostering collaboration.
- Support peers and contribute to training requirements.
Experience
- Preferably degree-educated with a relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g., CIPS OR RICS).
- Demonstrable sourcing experience with a track record of savings delivery.
- Proven senior-level stakeholder management and team leadership skills.
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Cross-functional collaborative working methods.
- Project management experience is advantageous.
For the successful person, this role offers up to 55,000 + a bonus and a generous benefits package.
The role is hybrid and will require you to be on site 3 days a week.
