Scientists and Engineers based in both Cambridge and Asia are collaborating on an exciting new project and are backed and funded by investors to grow the Cambridge based R&D team who will take these plans to the next level.

The ONE Group are working exclusively to recruit a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to work closely with both UK and Asia teams to design and implement a large-scale liquid handling plant.
Developing fluid management and processing systems, you will design the whole system and be the lead architect for all liquid handling activities, including plant equipment specification and liquid distribution in both up and down-stream processing areas.
Key challenges will include; developing energy consumption and CAPEX estimates for all stages of liquid handling, whilst optimising energy efficiency and yield in the down-stream processing.
You will also have to have a good understanding of surface chemistry; ensuring biological material and solvents are considered throughout all stages of the process, avoiding any contamination. There are lots of potential issues to navigate and you will need to be a superb problem solver and a real 'Swiss army knife" in terms of knowing how to implement engineering strategies to overcome challenges.
About You:
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, or similar
- Extensive experience of design and implementation of large-scale liquid handling plants, ideally containing biological material
- Experience in processing high-volume gases and liquids
- Expertise in down-stream processing, including dewatering, cell lysis, solvent and super-fluid oil extraction.
- Able to work in a cross-disciplinary team of Scientists, Mechanical and Electronic Engineers
- Confident communicating with external suppliers
- Willing to travel to Asia, up to 4x a year, for 1-2 weeks maximum for each visit
