Senior Civils Engineer urgently required - Luton Area!
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civils Engineer for a fantastic customer of ours!
Based in Luton, your role will be to maintain the Civils Infrastructure, with a particular focus on water management. You will need to have a strong background in Civil Engineering, with expertise in water management, project management, design and supervision.
You will play a crucial role in delivering successful projects, providing technical leadership, and mentoring junior staff.
Salary and Benefits:
Monday - Friday 0700-1630
Salary upto £55,000

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee Civil Engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the performance of the water infrastructure; potable, surface and foul, across the entire airport estate.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and technical analysis to assess project requirements and constraints.
- Prepare engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using industry-standard software and methodologies.
- Oversee routine maintenance activities and repairs, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and evaluations to monitor construction progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure conformance to design specifications.
- Collaborate with external contractors to co-ordinate maintenance and repair projects.
- Ensure that all water infrastructure complies with relevant codes and standards, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- To advise on financial estimates and consequences for all work, evaluate costs and materials to ensure budgetary balance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including area owners to integrate Civil Engineering solutions into larger projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering their professional development and growth.
- Responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and colleagues in the workplace.
Qualifications and knowledge required:
- A Civil Engineering-based qualification and/or a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Civil Engineering, with a water management bias.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects from conception to completion, particularly in water and/or wastewater engineering.
- Experience of working with Contractors to deliver the successful implementation of engineering solutions.
- Contract management experience.
- Health and Safety qualification - NEBOSH General / Construction preferred (desirable)
- Fully conversant with Employer’s obligations under health and safety law, relative to the duties of the role.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in engineering practices.
- Proficient in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
