We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Civils Technician to join our busy Infrastructure/Mission Critical team. The role could be based in London, Chelmsford, Ipswich or Cambridge.
What does the role involve?
Working on a variety of projects including large data centres, you will undertake design and detailing of engineering schemes with a Civils bias along with feasibility studies, inspections, surveys and reports, whilst assisting job managers in managing projects from inception to completion. This may include obtaining third party approvals, inspecting site works, undertaking contract administrative duties, liaising with clients, other professionals and the public. Being a senior Technician, you may also be required to train and mentor employees with less skills and qualifications than you.
To be successful in this role you'll have:
Experience in a similar role where you have designed and detailed infrastructure schemes using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCad software.
A Foundation degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Knowledge of Codes of Practice and Design Standards
Awareness of Health and Safety legislation relating to civil engineering
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Good numerical skills.
In terms of personal qualities you will be able to work on your own initiative and have the ability to organise and prioritise your workload to ensure that timescales are met. You will be a good problem solver and have contingency planning skills with the ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions. Attention to detail, a demonstrable pride in work and effective negotiation and persuasion skills are all essential for this role along with the ability to effectively collaborate with others and form positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.
