Join the Close Brothers Invoice Finance (CBIF) team. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Client Services, you will manage a team of Client Managers and Executives in the North.
You and your team will ensure that excellent outcomes are delivered across your portfolio of clients and that attrition is minimised while protecting Close Brothers from the risk of credit loss.
To succeed in this role, you will have a strong background in client management across IF facilities and excellent relationship-building and communications skills. You'll also possess excellent problem-solving and credit skills, ideally with some prior people-management experience.
The role is based in our Manchester office and will require a mixture of time in the office, on the road visiting clients and some time working from home.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a team of relationship managers to deliver strong risk management and a high-touch service model
- Lead the team aligned to our Strategic Priorities – Protect (maintain the key strengths of our business model), Grow (maximise opportunities) and Sustain (secure the long-term future of our business, customers and the world we operate in)
- Maintain and enhance client relationships/networks ensuring we have sufficient coverage taking into account new business opportunities, geography and expertise
- Ensure that Commercial client facilities operate within both CBIF, & CBL credit policy
- Maintain bad debt provisions within the annual budget, ensuring risk-reducing actions are prioritised and completed and risk issues are promptly escalated
- Ongoing management of collateral performance and reporting within the team
- Ensure risk-reducing actions are prioritised and completed, and risk issues are promptly escalated
- Source new business referrals from existing clients
- Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required
Developing Our People:
As a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
- You're an experienced Invoice Finance professional with a proven track record of building effective, lasting relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders (including operations, local / group credit and audit functions where necessary)
- You possess excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate satisfactory solutions between client and bank, which are considered “best outcomes” by all parties
- You're able to effectively manage your own time and workload, prioritising tasks to meet strict deadlines while helping your team do the same
- You possess strong financial analysis skills with experience in managing bad debts
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL, BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
- Possess an ABFA/UK Finance qualification
- Have experience of underwriting both new and existing business
- Have prior experience in mentoring and developing a team
