For this Senior Clinical Fellow post, we are looking for a candidate to work 10-6pm, normal working days, predominantly on our Medical SDEC unit but also Acute Medicine Assessment Unit when needed. The purpose of this post is to provide senior leadership to our Medical SDEC unit and clinical teams who work within it. We would be looking for the successful candidate to help lead with service development and exploring ideas to help further the success of our SDEC department. Clinical supervision will be provided by the relevant specialty consultants. The full range of educational opportunities provided by a large teaching hospital trust will be available to the post-holder, including a state-of-the-art PGME and medical simulation centre (with library and computer centre). The Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) has 520 beds and is the city's main teaching hospital. The Out-Patient Department holds Clinics for all the major specialties and deals with 153,600 patients per year. The Hospital's Emergency Department deals with 70% of the City's accident cases. Separate units for Haematology, Oncology, Eye, Dental, Children and Maternity cases are within a radius of a quarter of a mile.
