The candidate will be based entirely at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary. The candidate will be supported by 8 Consultants in Acute Medicine, 2 Trust Middle Grades as well as good junior doctor support from FY1, FY2, GP, VTS and ACCS trainee. The candidate will work across the Acute Medical areas A&E, MAU (25 beds) Lowton Ward/MAU 2 (28 beds), Clinical Decision Ward (11 beds) and the Same Day Emergency Care area. Planning and Organisational Duties Undertake senior reviews as part of the daytime working rota with the Consultants and current Middle Grade doctors to ensure that ALL medical patients in the above areas receive a daily senior review in the morning. Provide senior medical assessment and management in the Same Day Emergency Care area. We will support the doctor in this role. Initially, following an induction / settling in period, they would be expected to be take part in on-call rota (Days, Nights and Weekends) but this would be reviewed after an initial settling in period at the discretion of the Clinical Director for Unscheduled Care Support the junior doctors on the acute areas with ward jobs, discharges and practical procedures. Undertake CPD activity in line with requirements for revalidation by the GMC.
