Senior Commercial Manager
Warwick, London or Leeds - Hybrid
To help drive commercial value for the end consumer and support the effective delivery of our projects.
If you want to decarbonise Europe and lead the way on how this should be done in a cost effective way across the world, then, apply for this role. We are delivering the key offshore infrastructure needed to re-wire the UK to allow the country to deliver its Net Zero ambition. The incumbent will develop the commercial frameworks and contracts that will allow marine grids to be developed and built and deliver value both for the end consumer and the NG shareholder.
The role has huge scope and potential and you will have the power to influence a lot of new infrastructure.

What you'll be getting up to?
- Developing and delivering the contracting strategy for marine grids offshore projects.
- Working with stakeholders including external Joint Venture partners to implement this strategy
- Developing and maintaining key strategic relationships with OEMs and other suppliers as well as keeping abreast of their changing landscape
- Implementing the best contract frameworks for all our projects, balancing the risks/opportunities as per the shareholder appetite and the JV appetite
- Finding and pursuing commercial and innovative opportunities as and when they arise
- Developing the business case for all the projects
- Monitoring and tracking the commercial and contractual risks across projects
- Ensuring the commercial strategy is applied consistently across projects.
- Developing and owning the narrative that would allow the projects to stand up to commercial scrutiny by all relevant stakeholders (e.g. Ofgem)
About you
You have the gravitas to operate independently both internally and externally and to stand by your positions.
You are entrepreneurial, an expert at driving commercial value and can bring best practice from other parts of the energy sector as well as from other industries. You are open to new ideas and new ways of doing things.
You are keen to learn and will not be bound by your role profile in driving commercial value. An understanding of the regulatory environment that National Grid operates in would be desirable, as would a good understanding of procurement, commercial value, contractual processes, project management, and analysing and identifying sources of risk.
