The post of Senior Commissioning Analyst is a key role within the Regional Commissioning Analysis team. You will be involved in the development of reports and processes to meet the information and analytical requirements of key stakeholders within the directorate. The role is based in a team responsible for the provision of information, expert analysis, and insight to inform decision making and service transformation across the Midlands region.
You will work with the Commissioning Analysis Lead and the Head of Commissioning Analysis/Senior Manager Commissioner Analysis to ensure the to ensure the provision of analytical services to NHS England Direct Commissioning services.
• Follow quality control processes for own and peer outputs.
• Provide analytical support to the commissioning analysis team.
• Nurture relationships with NHSE Direct Commissioning Functions.
Promote uptake of the NCDR Portal, providing training and support as required.
• Actively use NCDR Portal Dashboards to identify Key Lines of
• Enquiry and proactively produce analysis and insights for the region.
• Assist with the provision of analytical support to effectively support deep dive and financial recovery programmes, Improving Value schemes, QIPP, clinical service reviews and other regional/national workstreams.
• Assist with identification and exploration of reasons for clinical variation utilising nationally produced tools.
• Utilise linked datasets available on the NCDR to generate analysis of clinical data to demonstrate clinical pathways and possibilities for integration with non-specialised areas.
• Provide analytical assistance to members of clinical reference groups (and other direct commissioning clinical forums) to aid service re-design and build the case for pathway convergence.
• Support the DPRU agenda to centralise routine reporting, by supporting the definition of high-quality products, ensuring local business rules are documented and shared.
• Follow the required processes to ensure requests for new reporting products are tracked, triaged and implemented by the appropriate team, to prevent duplication of effort and implementation of localised routine outputs.
