Are you ready for an exciting new career?

Due to the planned retirement of a Senior Commissioning Manager in Mental Health, a vacancy is going to become available in the Learning Disability, Autism and Mental Health Commissioning Team.

The post holder will manage the mental health portfolio in commissioning covering a broad range of services such as Residential, Supported Living, Outreach, Domiciliary Care and Home Support for people with enduring mental health needs, supporting one of the most vulnerable cohorts in our population towards recovery and living positively with long term mental illness. Due to the massive interdependencies, it will be essential for the post holder to work to maintain constructive relationships with relevant housing officers in District Councils, with Commissioners in the ICB, the Voluntary and Community Sector as well as Public Health Officers leading on strategic developments around substance misuse and dual diagnosis. Within the scope of this role will also be responsibility for maintaining oversight of commissioning of statutory advocacy services.

Working alongside operational colleagues the postholder will assist in developing insights into medium to longer term commissioning strategies. These will be social care centric and aligned and working alongside health colleagues to ensure sufficient focus on the social care role in commissioning for mental health.

We are hoping that to prepare for this portfolio of work there will be up to a three-month handover, due to the volume of handover that will need to happen with the person leaving their post.
