Salary: £29,000 - £34,000 depending on experience

The senior research communications officer will play a key role in bringing the research they fund and the partnerships they develop to life, telling their story in compelling, engaging ways.
You will take responsibility for communications about some of their key projects and partnerships, being able to take complex and varied information and translate it into content that highlights benefits for kidney patients, promoting collaboration between different sectors and showcasing the impact of their work. You will build relationships with the researchers they fund to help create a sense of community, develop an in-depth knowledge about their research portfolio and encourage their research community to engage and work with them.
You will be an experienced communications professional with a scientific background, with experience of communicating medical research to both professional and public audiences. A skilled writer and communicator, with a logical approach and good time management skills. Your excellent collaboration and networking skills mean that you’ll work well with others, whether that’s an internal colleague or advisor, or their external partners in the charitable, academic, NHS and industry sectors.

About Our Client:
They fund research into all aspects of kidney disease - from understanding the condition, to how they can prevent and treat it. They want to discover better, kinder treatments.
Research has given us life-saving kidney transplants, dialysis machines that filter the blood when the kidneys fail, and drugs to keep us going. But these treatments come at a cost. They can be gruelling, confining, relentless. A transplant is not a cure, they rarely last a lifetime.
Kidney disease still affects 3.5 million people in the UK. And 1 million of those don’t know they are at risk. That’s 3.5 million people who are someone’s parents, grandparents, children, friends.
