Derbyshire County Council have an exceptional opportunity for a procurement, Contract and Compliance officer to join its recently established procurement & contract compliance team. This role is well suited to highly motivated, positive individual who is seeking a real opportunity to make a difference and drive improvements into commercial and contract management best practices across the whole organisation.
The role forms part of team who are responsible for ensuring procurement and contract management compliance throughout the organisation in line with Council and departmental service plans, providing procurement and contract management advice and training.
What will you be doing?
- Undertake complex reviews to accurately assess financial and management information, procurement and contract performance, providingadvice and guidance to departmental staff
- Monitor and analyse contract KPI’s, identify variances and provide detailed information, advice, and guidance to ensure effective contract performance
- Undertake tasks, monitor workplans and provide guidance, support, and training to develop colleagues in the team
- Review and monitor routine contracts to ensure terms are met and issues are identified, taking ownership of issues and actively pursue resolution
- Ensure the service’s procurement, contractual and financialprovision is carried out in accordance with statutory guidance and financial regulations
- Contribute to the successes of the team, planning and organising activities to meet individual and collective targets and deadlines
- Attend meetings with Legal Services and colleagues to discuss contract performance and advise contract management issues
- Respond to internal and external customer enquiries providing prompt accurate information as required, in some instances, as procurement compliance guardian
What skills and experience do you need to have?
- Part CIPs Qualified or equivalent qualification or experience in a, contract or compliance related field
- Experience of working with computerised systems, including Microsoft and contract management packages
- Considerable experience of working within a procurement / finance area
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, objectives, and targets escalating any matters of concern as appropriate
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually with minimal supervision including attending meetings designated
