Your role:We have a rare opportunity for a Senior Consumer Reporter to join our award-winning Consumer team. The successful candidate will be an integral member of The Sun’s money and consumer team.

We need a talented, committed journalist to become a key member of this team.

Day to day you will:

  • A hunger to beat our rivals day in day out, by breaking news and writing exclusive news stories and features online and in print 

  • Bundles of consumer knowledge and the ability to challenge companies and fight for reader’s rights 

  • Bags of ideas and the ability to generate exclusives from your own sources and contacts 

  • Help edit news and features which appear online

  • Help to create news lists and present stories in conference and manage reporters   

What we are looking for from you: 

  • Online or print reporting experience in a newsroom 

  • Experience using Wordpress or  similar CMS system to build content digitally 

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to write clean copy to tight deadlines 

  • A passion for The Sun and understanding of the brand in print and online 

  • Being a self-starter is key – and you will need to thrive under the pressure of a busy newsroom

  • Enthusiasm, imagination and a notebook full of ideas are all essential

  • Unflappable under pressure and delivers work at a consistently high standard

  • Positive attitude and good team player

  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

  • Have a thorough knowledge of the IPSO Code of Conduct, media law and ethical considerations

  • At least one years experience as a reporter or journalist
