SCHOOLS BASED ACROSS GREATER MANCHESTER & LANCASHIRE
We require a Bank Counsellor to provide a counselling and family support service in schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.
You will respond to the unmet needs of children and young people who are referred to the service through direct work, exploration, information gathering, assessment or formulation and liaison with the family.
You will also be required to provide a supportive and reflective space for children and young people in identifying areas for positive change around their sense of self, their school and home environment.
For the position you must have registered counsellor status with BACP or UKCP and have experience of individual counselling and therapeutic/group work with children. You must have competent IT skills with the ability to provide one on one sessions and group work based on the resources, guidance and tool kits of accredited programmes adapted by the school's service. You will also support the school staff with safeguarding.
