We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to take on the important role of Senior Date Analyst your role will be to support the team as we put into action new tools, technologies, and techniques to meet Thames Water’s current and future challenges. within the UK’s largest Water and Wastewater Company.

What you’ll be doing as the Senior Data Analyst
  • Working with large data sets drawn from a wide variety of internal and external sources; including environmental data, survey feedback and operational data.
  • Interrogation of databases; carrying out data transformations and liaising with the business to improve our ways of working.
  • Supporting the business and working with stakeholders to design, build, and maintain a range of reports and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Supporting and collaborating with colleagues to further our objectives. You will assist in informing colleagues on operational decisions driven by insight.
  • Maintaining data quality and ensuring data is secure and properly utilised in line with the GDPR.
  • Mentoring other team members and promoting cross-training and efficiency.
  • Bridge the gap between the business and data with presentations, insight, and storytelling.
  • Base Location: Hybrid - Kemble Court - RG2 6AD.
  • Working hours: Monday-Friday 36 hours per week.

What you should bring to the role
  • Experience and knowledge of working with different databases.
  • Experience in data analysis, building dashboards and generating insights.
  • In-depth understanding of operational data sets with a proven track record of quickly adapting to technical challenges.
  • Must have experience in SQL, Power BI (or similar reporting tool) and Power query.
  • Knowledge and experience of Python, R or other statistical languages, and experience in applying statistical models to inform data-led decisions would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of building data pipelines and working in Azure data factory would be an advantage.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Able to present and articulate complex information to different audiences in an engaging manner.
  • Keen attention to detail with highly effective organisation and prioritisation skills.
