JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing Data Analytics team at Next! 

This role will specifically look after market data, currently working within DataBricks and Google Cloud Platform with further connections to the Marketing team and third party consultancies.

As a Senior Data Scientist you will report marketing campaign performances and optimise marketing budget for NEXT. Other responsibilities will include market/customer segmentation analysis and other marketing-related analysis/modelling.

We are looking for someone who has an understanding of data science techniques. You will also have great communication skills so that you can present your findings to various stakeholders.

We can offer hybrid working, with part of the week working at Next Had Office in Enderby, Leicestershire and part of the week working remotely (fully remote working not available).

About the role

  • Collaborate with teams from around the business to understand problems and opportunities and gather requirements for modelling and analysis.
  • Proactively identify trends and opportunities from the Data and create presentations/reports to recommend better decisions.
  • Work with the engineers to improve the data collection process (Data ingestion & ETLs process) and support initiatives for data integrity and normalisation.
  • Building, deploying, monitoring and maintaining ML Models. The use case includes RFM, MMM, Marketing Attribution, Timeseries, etc. 
  • Work with the marketing team to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and channels. Provide recommendations for resource allocation and budget optimization.

About you

  • Good analytical  & problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding and experience of data science techniques covering statistical analysis, A/B testing, manipulation, time-series, regression, classification, and segmentation problems.
  • Proficient in SQL & Python. Familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy) and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
  • Good coding practice, and experience with code optimization, ETL framework & tools.
  • At least 2-3 years of Data science experience related to the retail or end customer/user product industry.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to visualise data appropriately and concise manner.
  • Willing to learn different coding technologies and analytical platforms
