About the Opportunity
Jacobs are offering an exciting opportunity to join our growing team of Data Scientist professionals to work on a range of projects for our diverse client portfolio applying data science techniques and technologies to a range of problems to help our clients operate more efficiently and to better exploit the value in our data.
Our team is growing are we looking for a self-starting, motivated and experienced Senior Data Scientist with proven experiences in delivering complex data-centric solutions. As part of our team, you will support across the full spectrum Data Scientist activities. You will be responsible for collaboration amongst the team and with our customers. Excellent communication, report writing and presenting skills with the ability to communicate cloud security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff in an intelligent and articulate manner.

You will have the opportunity to work across multiple market sectors to suit your interests and career aspirations under a hybrid working arrangement that best suit each client's needs. Reporting to the Technical Director.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Formulating, suggesting and managing data-driven projects which are geared at furthering the business's interests.
  • Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insight.
  • Cross-validating models to ensure their generalizability.
  • Producing and disseminating non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each project.
  • Suggesting ways in which insights obtained might be useful to inform business strategies.
  • Support the team with practical guidance as needed.
  • Staying informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that outputs are always relevant.

Here's What You'll Need:
  • Degree qualification in a related discipline or proven work experience within a similar role.
  • Experience in one or more of the following list, to index, search, categorise, and exploit data on large-scale projects: Big data; Machine Learning; Artificial Intelligence; Data Visualization
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and managing stakeholder/customer relations.
  • Ability to collaborate within a diverse team.
  • Able to work independent and manage relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience supporting manager in leading/coaching the team
