Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engineering concepts and solutions, ensuring compliance with company and international standards, and engineering mechanical equipment for manufacture and functionality. This role requires minimal supervision and involves a range of project work, from design to testing.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Produce engineering concepts and technical solutions that meet company and international standards.
- Engineer mechanical equipment to a level sufficient for manufacture and functionality.
- Check and issue design and process documents.
- Substantiate and validate design output.
- Complete engineering designs and associated documents, such as drawings, calculations, and reports, within required timescales.
- Issue engineering documents as required.
- Assist with clerical and administrative duties to support the Engineering Department.
- Progress small to medium-sized engineering projects or work as part of a team on larger projects, with regular consultation with the Head of Department or other team members.
- Engage in all aspects of the design process, including drafting and testing of products, as well as organisational tasks to ensure timely progress of projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in concept, scheme, and detail Design Engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D CAD.
- Familiarity with working to international standards.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and engineering calculation skills.
- Good reporting skills to inform the Engineering & Projects Director.
- Degree, HNC/HND in a relevant field (significant experience and references in Engineering activities, especially in highly regulated industries, will be desirable).
