Senior Design Engineer

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join a specialist manufacturing business in Coventry.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance.

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to oversee the design of customer products as well as develop new innovative engineering solutions. 

Everyday will be different, from liaising with manufacturing and sales, to visiting sensitive defence sites to discuss projects with customers.

You should have sound project management experience and be able to implement design software (i.e. SolidWorks / Inventor / Vault), with the role giving the freedom for you to shape the companies design function going forward.

This position has come about through a planned retirement along with the need to expand the inhouse design department to meet growing customer demand. 

Senior Design Engineer experience required:

• Mechanical Engineering qualification
• 5 years Design Engineering experience
• Experience working with metals
• SolidWorks or Inventor
• Project management & customer liaison experience.
