Senior Design Engineer

Your new company
We are seeking a talented Senior Design Engineer to join our client who is a leading producer of food harvesting and production equipment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in producing detailed designs and drawings using SolidWorks software. This exciting position involves travel, depending on project requirements.
Your new role
In this role, you will collaborate with Senior Designers and technicians to manage projects, with a focus on cost reduction and cycle time optimisation for existing plant equipment and utilise 3D and 2D software tools, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD. As part of your new role you will also create Bills of Materials (BOMs), layouts, and fabrication drawings for various projects as well as manage communication with customers and suppliers regarding design specifics, aesthetics, and plant requirements. As part of your new role, you will use in-house systems creating 3D models and DXF files, facilitating efficient ordering and assembly processes. You will be expected to participate in research and development projects, both in the office and hands-on.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing the Senior Design Engineer role, you should possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 8 years of post-graduate design experience in a precision engineering environment. We are looking for candidates with proficiency in SolidWorks, analysis programs, and the Microsoft suite. We are also looking for experience in on-site auditing and measuring, as well as designing bespoke engineering systems, and it is essential that you have a willingness to travel.
