Role: Senior Development Chemist

Location: Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £40,000

Lavandi Talent is currently working with a fantastic business within the Beauty and Personal Care Industry who are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Development Chemist to join their team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of innovative cosmetic formulations.
• Collaborate with teams to exceed product briefs and ensure technical requirements are met.
• Manage all formulation-related technical aspects with manufacturing teams.
• Proactively research, evaluate, and implement new technologies and materials.
• Stay up to date with industry trends.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers.
• Support the regulatory team with product safety and compliance.
• Ensure seamless transition from lab to plant scale and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Attend client meetings and national/international trade shows.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Degree level or equivalent qualification incorporating aspects of Chemistry, Cosmetic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a related subject.
• Previous experience in Formulation, Product and Regulatory within Beauty / FMCG.
• Experience in a lab-based/manufacturing environment working with Beauty/FMCG
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work unsupervised, using their own initiative, with a passion for cosmetics.
• Excellent organisation, time management & problem-solving skills
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office, with strong knowledge of Excel.
