About the role:
Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with an international company that operates across highly regulated sectors including Civil Nuclear and has a strong presence and history of delivery at nuclear sites in the UK and internationally. They are looking for a Senior EC&I Engineer to provide delivery of all design and engineering to meet the requirements of design reviews and HAZOPs within the project procedures.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to Principal Engineers, the Senior EC&I Engineer will:

• Supervise a design/project team of up to five engineering staff and be responsible for the allocation of work, managing quality, progress and cost of work carried out within the project
• Hold responsibility of managing project subcontracts, interacting with clients and other managers and communicate within the project team
• Manage safety by developing and reinforcing the safety culture and compliance with safety regulations
• Be accountable for design, specification, procurement, supply/manufacture liaison, installation, acceptance testing, commissioning and operator training in nuclear engineering projects
• Hold project management responsibilities including quality, progress and cost control

Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:

• Degree qualified in a relevant technical/engineering discipline, ideally working towards Chartership
• Five years' or more working within the nuclear industry would be desirable
• Understanding of design requirements to support nuclear safety cases
• Experience in at least two of the following areas: Mechanical handling, process instrumentation, machinery safety, functional safety or LV distribution systems
• Experience checking design documentation and leading a technical team within a project delivery environment
