My client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join them during this exciting time as they transfer their world-leading technology from R&D to manufacture.


You will have the opportunity to apply your experience in analogue and electronics design across our range of existing and future products to support our mission to transform radiology.


Candidate Profile

As an ideal candidate, you will have a minimum qualification of a degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience. We would welcome applications from people who are confident to make design decisions and take ownership for the execution of their work.

Key Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Electronics Design (analogue and digital), including schematic capture, simulation and PCB Layout
  • Preparation and release of components, bill of materials, wiring diagrams and other drawings
  • Create requirements and test specifications for electronics components and assemblies used within the company
  • Play a key role in internal and external product and component testing, such as EMC and Electrical Safety Testing
  • Take ownership for own project work, lead tasks and plan future work, including developing and performing appropriate risk analysis, simulation and testing, in line with relevant standards
  • Act as a functional expert, providing guidance and advice to colleagues in their specialist area (Electronics Engineering and testing)
  • Support company-wide electronics activities, including electronics equipment purchasing, lab maintenance, test and assembly
  • Support high-voltage and general electrical-related safety systems
  • Prepare documentation and technical reports, including drawings and work instructions
  • Assist in the build and progression of prototype units
  • Support colleagues with future product development planning and delivery
  • Resolve any technical issues that arise, including documenting investigation work

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Skills:

  • Electronics Design, from design concept through to producing PCBs
  • Testing and troubleshooting of electronics assemblies
  • FMEA of electronic systems
  • EMC and electrical safety best practice
  • Ability to achieve project delivery deadlines
  • Effective communication, with an eagerness to learn from and share knowledge with colleagues

Experience:

  • Leading electronics and testing projects within a regulated industry
  • Successfully scoping work, making design decisions and completing tasks within budget
  • Working with external labs such as EMC test houses, and troubleshooting and solving any EMC related issues.
  • Desirable: Medical device industry
