A Senior Electronics engineering in instrumentation engineering is urgently required by a global leader in the technologies field. As Senior Electronics engineer you will have demonstrable experience and specific expertise in analogue and digital circuit design preferably in a product development environment.
The work will involve mixed signal design including pre-amplifiers, filters, power supplies, interfacing and analog-digital conversion for precision instrumentation applications. Designs should be safe and be compliant with product standards and legal requirements. Candidates must be UK citizen to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- New product electronics development and integration (design & test, commissioning)
(using CAD, PCB design exp with MCU’s).
- Existing product development (fault finding / improvement / enhancement)
- Support to Production Department test engineers
- Design, prototype and document a system. Take it through to a manufacturability state.
- Work independently on a task or overseeing a team contributing to all aspects of the product development cycle from requirement analysis through design & development, prototyping and into production.
- Some research and investigation into new ideas and techniques that can be applied to the business would be required.
- Produce or sign off design documentation and test specifications.
- Responsible for initiating investigations and corrective actions for design failures or non-performance.
- Responsible for ensuring that test rigs, instrumentation, prototypes and laboratory practices are constructed or undertaken in a safe manner.
- Provide support for bidding/proposal preparation and planning as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree engineering- 1st, 2.1, 2.2 in electronics, or electronics / electrical related engineering
- Knowledge and understanding of product development processes in a commercial environment
Essential
- Assembler and/or embedded 'C'
- CAD (schematic layout) or OrCAD
- Experience with microcontroller (MCU) -based circuit design and embedded software essential.
- Systems Engineering, Analog components / circuits, Operational Amplifier circuits
- Power supply technology
- Circuit analysis, modelling and theory, Analog-Digital Conversion
- Interfacing and IO (e.g. I2C and SPI bus)
- CAD PCB design
- Fault finding, EMC Testing - CE and DEF-STAN 59-411
Desirable
- Some experience or knowledge of FPGA based circuit design and HDL is desirable.
- Linux and other OS
- Availability, reliability and Maintainability Assessment
- Professional Registration (IEng or CEng), IPC training, CAD or other schematic tools training
Must be able to drive or close to passing driving test.
